From the Guardian:

Centaur reports 66% drop in recruitment advertising revenues

Note: this is a drop in all recruitment revenues – not just print.

  1. 66%.
Seeing as recruitment made up most of the revenue for most of Centaur’s titles and we all know that display revenue isn’t exactly booming either, how long can they actually afford to print their titles to the same circulation runs?

Cut the circulation too dramatically and the ad revenue they do get will vanish even quicker. Keep printing the same number of mags and thy will soon run out of cash. Fire all your sales staff and you wont have any money coming in at all.

Could it be that Centaur might provide the first ‘Oh My God!’ moment and enter into true publishing mythology?
