Press Gazette reports that publisher Public Matters is launching Elected – a new magazine for politicians aimed at “promoting best practice and innovation in public services”.

“The first three editions of the new monthly magazine will be sent free to every elected politician in the country…After that the magazine will be available via subscription.”

Oh dear. Vote of confidence anyone?

RBI turns ugly

RBI is to close specialist beauty industry title Health and Beauty Salon.

RBI said “difficult trading conditions” and falling advertising revenues were behind the decision, which will see the last issue of the monthly title published on 28 October.

“Farewell to Future’s last publication that was actually of any use to computing beginners; PCA was unafraid to recommend newbies try Free/Open Source software as viable alternatives  – the non-tech-savvy are now abandoned to official Windows publications, a sterile environment where the iPod is pronounced “Zune” and bloatware forces constant hardware upgrades… Sad.” (more…)
